We, the diverse faith community of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, are called to be church through baptism to continue the mission of Jesus Christ.

With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we gather for word and worship. We use our gifts to reach out in service to all.

Summer, 2008 Liturgical Minister Schedule

Music Ministries

Mixed Choir: Rehearses on Monday evenings beginning at 7:00 p.m. and continues for 1 to 1.5 hours. This choir sings approximately once a month from September until early June. This choir is in need of all singers especially soprano, alto and bass.

Our vocal choir sings music of all styles, both accompanied and unaccompanied, with harmony and with varied instrumental accompaniment when available. Music reading is not required; there is no formal audition, however, it would be nice to hear your voice. All rehearsals take place in Holy Redeemer Church.

Bell Choirs - We begin our second season of Ringing In God’s Name after a very successful first year. Both choirs are three octave hand bell choirs, composed of 11 members. Music reading is not a must but very helpful. There is not audition requirement. Both choirs play once a month with and without other choirs and are highly dedicated to attendance at rehearsals and performance opportunities.

RING I: Rehearses on Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

RING II: Rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Instrumentalists: Do you play percussion instruments, string instruments or woodwinds, brass or guitar? We would like to invite you to be part of our instrumental membership that plays with the above choirs or alone. Those in grades 9 through adult are invited.

Keyboardists: We are in need of keyboard players to accompany the liturgies. A mature knowledge of the instrument is required, knowledge of the liturgy is desired but not required; we have a mentor process for those new to liturgical accompaniment.

Liturgical Ministers

The following lay ministries are always in need of committed adults:

Proclaimers of the Word

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Greeters / Ushers

In addition, we offer training for new altar servers for interested youth in 5th grade or up. This training is generally offered in the fall, but can be offered again if there is enough interest.

Please contact Pam Haukom for more information.
