Baptism preparation at the Church of the Holy Redeemer involves the following:

• Be a registered member of the parish
• Set up an interview with one of the priests
• Register for the baptism session
• Go over the packet of materials that are sent. This packet includes the following:

• letter to the parents
• questions for discussion
• policy statement with guidelines
• ritual outline
• packet on forty necessary assets for family life
• conversation packet for couples/single parents
• home activity (four concentric circle exercise)

If at all possible, please register at least two weeks prior to the baptism prep session so you can get the materials in a timely manner.

We offer the preparation session every other month, at 7:30pm in the faith formation office area. Childcare is provided.

If you have had a preparation session for a previous baptism within a period of three years, you do not need to attend the session itself, but you must arrange for an interview with one of the priests.

Because this is such an important sacrament and foundational to all the others, the baptism team takes this time with you seriously. We provide a forum for your questions or concerns, as well as some excellent take home materials.
